CMOS Image Sensor for Industrial Applications that Realizes High Sensitivity Approximately Twice That of the Existing Product

Sony Semiconductor Solutions Corporation has developed the CMOS image sensor “IMX385LQR” for industrial applications. This new image sensor realizes high sensitivity approximately twice that of the existing product (IMX185LQJ)*1.
The IMX385LQR pursues picture quality at low illuminance most needed by cameras for industrial applications and mounts pixels with a sensitivity of 2350 mV, which is the highest sensitivity among Sony image sensors for industrial applications*2. In addition, SNR1s of 0.13 lx*3, which is the highest performance among Sony Full HD-compatible image sensors for industrial applications, is achieved by mounting an internal programmable gain amplifier and high conversion gain pixels. Superior performance as an image sensor for industrial applications is further achieved by combining HDR (High Dynamic Range) technology with technology that improves sensitivity in the near-infrared light region.

Astrophotography Performance

ASI385MC offers very good performance for astrophotography. Low read noise, high dynamic range, QE peak >80%, AR protective window and much more.

 

 

USB 3.0 Port & ST4 Port

USB 3.0 Port: can provide 5Gb bandwidth to let ASI385 run at 67 fps (12bit, normal mode) or 120 fps (10bit, high speed mode)  at full resolution(2.13Mega).

ST4 Port: can be used connect with auto guide port of mount, for guiding.

  • This warranty does not apply to damage that occurred as a result of abuse or misuse, or caused by a fall or any other transportation failures after purchase.
  • Customer must pay for shipping when shipping the camera back for repair or replacement. If we confirm you can get a replacement, goods must be returned with all accessories, instructions, etc and must be suitably packed.

    I will receive my ASI385MC this week (can’t wait! :) ). But looking also for a focal reducer of 0.5x or 0.33x. But with a lot of reducers there are comments about the chipsize of the camera where the chip maybe could not be fully illuminated.
    Is this something that I have to take in consideration or is the chipsize of the 385 small enough for all reducers?
    This for a Meade LX65 203mm ACF (203/2032mm, f10 )

    Can this Cam be used with a focal lenght of 1500mm or do i need a reducer?
    And what means Working Temperature: -5°C—45°C and Storage Temperature: -20°C—60°C? Can it be only used in winter and must be stored in the refrigerator?

      The working temp is a conservative estimate. usually the camera could work in -30degrees even lower.

    Hi there, I need cameras for non-astronomical use. What parameters I concerned the most are noise and dynamic range. But I cannot find the DR value in your camera spec. Can you please tell me the DR values for both 385MC and 290MC? Which one is better in terms of those two parameters? Thanks a lot?

    My scope is an Orion 80/480 that I would like to use for EAA. Primary use will be color for DSO with occasional planetary. I know the 294 is your best for EAA but in my budget range would the 385 or the 224 be best for me? Or is there another one in this price range you think would be better than those two?
