    Hello ZWO Team,

just received my EAF :) . I do already have another brand, but do like your well thought designs, so I just ordered it for future use. And the EAF is really absolutely up to my expectations. Great work!
One issue I do have with it: There’s no programmable backlash compensation within the unit. Is this something that might come later with a firmware upgrade (are they upgradable?). I’m using the latest INDI driver.

    1. Does your currently-supplied mounting bracket work with the Crayford focuser on the Orion ED80T CF apochromatic triplet ?

    2. I purchased your ASIAIR a few months ago. Would it already have the software in it to drive the EAF and it’s auto-focusing more, or how would I upgrade the ASIAIR software to add this capability ?

1.It may need some long screws and spacer.
You can search in our Facebook group for more info, https://www.facebook.com/groups/zwoasiusers/
2.You can download the ASIAIR in the App store and Google Play.
Yes it support EAF and it will support Auto-focusing in the future.

In a post back in June, a customer asked if the feather touch micro focuser knob that replaces the standard knob on a sct is compatible. You replied yes, but you have to remove both the micro and course knobs. How is course focusing achieved if the knob is removed? And does the installation require a special bracket not yet available?

      Which feather-touch focuser?
Usually, SCT needs an extra focuser.
You can cnotrol EAF to move in the software, no need wo worry about the coarse focusing.
For the bracket, you can refer to the mechanical drawing in the details page for confirmatoin.

I have an SW Esprit 100ED, I bought EAF, so I read that it fits my ED. In fact, this is not at all the case; there are not even a single hole on the focuser for fixing the focuser attachment board…

Hi Sam & the whole crew! Love your products, innovative, fantastic quality, agile product management, great design and everything for a really fair price. Just wanted to say thanks to you and everyone working with you.

You’ve mentioned the focuser works with SharpStar telescopes. Does it also work with the new 150mm f2.8 hyperbolic reflector? They have a different focuser and space could be an issue due to the reflector tube.

    Cheers
    Gion

If you even think you might want this, you do. I mounted it to my one speed Moonlite (minor filing for screw fitment) in no time. I am sure when the correct adapter comes out, it will be even easier. It worked right away on my laptop with ascom, and on my ASIair. (another amazing ZWO product by the way)
Another comment I have for buyers in the United States, I paid the fast shipping method and it arrived at the same time products I ordered from US sellers did. One week, excellent shipping time. If you find it here and not at a US dealer, don’t have any hesitation to order directly from ZWO.

My unit arrived yesterday. It works well under AsiCap, but does not move using INDI. The position is correct, but no movement. Also…I have a TS-Optics scope. The supplied screws to mount the bracket are the correct size, but the ‘slot’ in the bracket is not wide enough to push the screw through. I had to drill it. Not really ‘compatible’.
