  1. :

Does the new 1600 color use passive cooling via a heat sink and fan. I know the the 1600 cooled has peliter cooling.
    Thank you

    • Sam Wen

      :

      you can add yourself

  2. :

Will you be adding a “What’s in the box” line in the description, like the other ASI product?

    • :

      Hi Robert
      Sound great! We will.
      Just to ‘spoiler’,
      –ZWO ASI1600MC Camera Body
      –2″ nosepiece
      –2″ Cover
      –2 m long USB 3.0 cable
      –2 m long ST4 guider cable
–Driver & Extra Software CD (Mac, PC & Linux Compatible)

  3. :

Will this camera work on a USB 2 system as I am interested in purchasing it

    • Sam Wen

      :

      of course, just slower speed

  4. :

what else will i need to connect to a skywatcher ed80 please and when are they available thanks

    • Sam Wen

      :

I think you may need to consider an IR-Cut filter
it include everything else you need

  5. :

    as above

  6. :

Expected sales of protective window IR-Cut for asi1600mc? Using the 1.25″ IRcut filter provides vignetting problem.

    • Sam Wen

      :

there is one M42-1.25″filter come with ASI1600
      https://astronomy-imaging-camera.com/products/accessories/t2-1-25-filter-adapter/
so you can use a 1.25″ IRCUT filter screw very close to the camera sensor and support focal ratio larger than F5 system without vignetting problem

but you are correct that you need to replace the protect window if you need to support F2 focal ratio without vignetting

  7. :

First I would like to congrat you for the quality of your cams (I am the happy owner of a 224 cam) ! Do you plan to commercialize a cam with the Sony a7s sensor ?

    • Sam Wen

      :

thanks, there is such cam if we can get the sensor 😉

  8. :

Just wondering that this is missing in the spec: Is the ASI 1600 supporting hardware binning?

    • Sam Wen

      :

yes, it support hardware bin2 and bin3
but hardware binning still done in digital domain

  9. :

I would like to use this camera for Sharpcap live view imaging but my computer is 15m from the telescope. Will this camera support 15m USB3.0?. If yes do I get a single cable or multiple short lengths connected together?

    • Sam Wen

      :

usually USB3.0 only support up to 5meters, you can use USB2.0 cable for longer distance

  10. :

Does the ASI 1600MC (4/3 color) camera support softwre that uses a TWAIN interface?

    • Sam Wen

      :

yes, you can download TWAIN driver from our website
