  1. :

Cool that you guys have a package deal! What is the current shipping ETA? Also, will there be a Narrowband Filter kit for the 1600 at some point?

    • Sam Wen

      :

      we have it instock now

  2. :

When the 1600mm-c is paired with this filter wheel what do I need for a spacer ring thickness to achieve focus on:

    1) Baader MPCC III (Used with a 6″ F4 imaging Newt, and needs 55mm of backfocus)
    2) TS PHOTOLINE 2″ 0,79x Reducer (For my scope it needs 70mm of backfocus from the T2-Thread to the sensor)

I will NOT be using an OAG at this time. I will wait until ZWO comes out with their OAG.

Do you make the spacer rings that I need?

    Thank you,

    -Chris

    • Sam Wen

      :

      ASI1600MM + EFW + T2-T2 + T2 11mm extender + T2 18.5mm extender
      6.5+20+1+11+18.5=57mm
it should be very close if you consider the filter’s thickness
I think you can try at first, all these accessories come with the camera

  3. :

Will there be a choice of 1.25 or 31mm filters in the future?

    • Sam Wen

      :

      we already have 1.25″ filters
      31mm will come at Oct

  4. (verified owner):

    I’ve ordered yesterday.
    I expect to arrive soon.

    Regards.

    • Sam Wen

      :

thanks, we have already sent it

  5. :

    Hi Sam
I am about to buy this package deal. Do you know if I need spacers to use with my efractors:

    WO 98mm+Flat IV
    ES 127mm+Fflatteners
    6″ Astrotech RC

What OIII and Ha filters do you recommend?

    Thank you

    Rodrigo

    • Sam Wen

      :

this kit include everything you need, but you may need some T2 extender to adjust the back focus
you’d better choose the same thickness of OIII or Ha
our Ha will come at Oct

  6. (verified owner):

    Yesterday I received the products.
    Thank you for fast delivery.

    • Sam Wen

      :

      it’s our pleasure

  7. :

    Hi Sam
Do you have any new information about the QE of this camera?
    Thank you

    • Sam Wen

      :

the peak value is about 60%

  8. :

Thank you for the information. Do you know if this value is similar for all wavelengths? or it is lower on the Ha spectrum?

    • Sam Wen

      :

      sorry, what is your question?

  9. :

Is there a version coming with an integrated OAG?

    • Sam Wen

      :

      we will provide OAG alone

  10. :

    Hi Sam
You mentioned that the QE of the camera is about 60%. My question: is it is 60% for Ha. I have seen cameras such as QHY9 that shows a different QE depending on the wavelength (56%@540nm 48%@Ha)
    Thank you

    • Sam Wen

      :

      60% is the peak QE

  11. :

    Hi Sam

When are you planning to have the OII and Ha filters available? I would like to order the kit and the filters all together. Are you also planning to have a SII filter?
    Thank you

    • Sam Wen

      :

      yes, Ha OII and SII
which size do you prefer, 1.25 or 31 or 36?

  12. :

First of all congrats for this great Kit! I amb serioislu considering a purchase. My only wonder is about OAG. When will it be available? I would like to ask for a pack with all: KIT, OAG and new Halpha (october?).

    Thanks Sam.

    (I’m a satisfied user of the ASI174 😉

    • Sam Wen

      :

thanks, we wish to release our OAG next month

  13. :

    Hi Sam

The 36mm would be the best. would it be the same filter wheel for that size? or how much more would be the price?
    Thank you

    • Sam Wen

      :

there will come 7*36mm EFW in the end of this month
      price would be $299

  14. :

    Hi Sam

Could you provide a transmission curve for the LRGB filter set supplied with the filter wheel?

    Thanks,

    Alfredo

  15. :

    Hi Sam

Thank you for your answer. It is nice to know the 7x36mm will be available soon. Are you going to have a 7x36mm kit option or I will have to buy the components separately?
    Rodrigo

    • Sam Wen

      :

we can provide such kit when our 36mm filters are ready

  16. :

    Hi Sam
Thank you for your answer. I will be looking forward to the 7x36mm kit. Would it be ready to buy at the end of this month?
    Rodrigo

    • Sam Wen

      :

      yes, supposed to

  17. (verified owner):

WOW!!! 7*36 EFW will come!!! That sounds great!!!
Is this EFW can use 1.25″ mounted filters?
Or how about the prices of the 36mm filers(LRGB, Ha, OIII, SII)?
7*36mm filters with EFW Kit will be…;-)

    • Sam Wen

      :

no, only 8*1.25 EFW accept 1.25″ and 31mm filter
our 36mm filters will come soon too

  18. :

Hi! I just read above that you have the Narrowband Filter kit available now but I can’t find it on your web page. What is the price for and what is include in this kit?? (H alpha only or H alpha, O3 and S2 ??) Thanks

    • Sam Wen

      :

our narrowband filter will come soon but not now 😉
we hope to release at end of this month

  19. :

    Hi Sam
I see you have the 7×36 filter wheel already. Wen will the 7×36 kit will be available including narrow band filters?

    • Sam Wen

      :

      we already have them

  20. :

Waiting for the new OAG kit and NB filters for the ASI1600MM-C. Can’t wait :)))

    • Sam Wen

      :

all will come at this month

  21. :

    Hi Sam
You mentioned that the 36mm filters and kit will be ready by the end of October. Do you have any update on that?
    Thank you

    • Sam Wen

      :

we already have them and will upload to our site soon

  22. :

    Hi Sam
When will the new kit be available for ordering? Will it be available to order from the US dealers at the same time too?

    Thank you

    • Sam Wen

      :

      we will add soon

  23. :

No exact date for the OAG launching? It was supposed to be available on november…

    Thanks so much.

    • Sam Wen

      :

      OAG is ready now
we just need some time to upload to our site

  24. :

    Thanks Sam!!
Different kit options with FW, OAG and with/without filters will be more than welcome.

    Thanks again,

    Aleix

    • Sam Wen

      :

thanks Alex, I think there are already too many kit, so OAG will be one seperate accessary

  25. (verified owner):

    Hi Sam.

Is there any adjustment for focusing between 1.25″ LRGB filters and narrowband filters?

    • Sam Wen

      :

no, the thickness is very close each other

  26. (verified owner):

    Hi Sam.

    Fix my question again.

Should I adjust the focus between 1.25″ LRGB filters and narrowband filters?

    • Sam Wen

      :

the thickness of 1.25″ LRGB and SHO filter both 1.9mm
so I think you don’t need for most of the filters
but you may need for Ha or Red because the wavelength is longer than other filters

  27. :

I am not sure how to select a filter size for the 1600 kit. Is there a focal ratio limit that I should consider?

    Thanks,
    ian

    • Sam Wen

      :

yes, 36mm won’t have vignetting problem with any scope or lens
31mm filters would have vignet if focal ratio is smaller than F2
1.25″ filters would have vignet if focal ratio is smaller than F5

  28. (verified owner):

What about sending the package in a good pelican case (like some of competitors are already doing) than in a cardboard box. You may even include it as an additional option for a little additional payment.

    • Sam Wen

      :

this is because we want to keep the package as small as possible

  29. (verified owner):

Another small question. Is that on-board USB hub is powered by 12v power supply to the cooler unit?

    • Sam Wen

      :

no, current version is powered from USB input

  30. :

I think you should sell the camera together with a AC power adapter. Otherwise it is very likely that some users to use cheap low quality power adapters which may damage the camera and ultimately blame the camera.

    • Sam Wen

      :

we will try to do it, the problem with AD adapter is different country have different standard

  31. :

Is 36mm filter set mounted or one has to painstakingly install them inside the filter wheel? What about 1.25″ ones?

    • Sam Wen

      :

you need to install them yourself, very easy

  32. :

Another question – will this camera work with my TV102 refractor with focal length of 867mm? Will I be oversampling the image?

    • Sam Wen

      :

      you can bin2

  33. :

Question on the correct size to order – I am considering the ASI1600mono kit with the 36mm FW set (kit 3). My OTA is the EdgeHD 8″ with 0.7 focal reducer. This makes the scope 1422mm at f/7 – will the 36mm filter set work best? It says with the focal reducer that it provides 105mm of back focus, and I think your kit has the right spacing adapters? Thanks!

    • Sam Wen

      :

the 36mm filer set works, you need some T2 extender to make it fit 105mm back focus, our adapter is not long enough

  34. :

What is the bandwidth of your Ha, O-III, and S-II filters?

    • Sam Wen

      :

      7nm

  35. :

I am considering this camera. Can you please confirm whether all dealers in the US have version 3 (V3) of this camera. I know you made some significant improvements in version 3. How do I know if it is version 3 and not the older version.

    • Sam Wen

      :

you can tell from the front cover, there are 4 screws to hold the cover to the camera

  36. :

My current setup is Skywatcher Evostar 80ED DS refractor with 0.85x Reducer/Corrector mounted on HEQ5Pro.

Please tell me which kit is suitable for my scope.

    • Sean Wang

      :

Actually, each kit is suitable for you.

  37. :

Thanks for reply.. It means 1.25″ kit won’t give vignetting using my setup above ?

    • Sam Wen

      :

      no vignetting

  38. :

    Hello!
I would like to know the back-focus distance of the ASI1600MM Cool + EFW8 (with 31mm filters) + the ZWO OAG. So I guess the distance from the front of the OAG threads to the sensor face. I’m placing an order for a SV130T with Flattener and Vic needs this distance to build the spacer.
    Thank you!
    -Larry

    • Sean Wang

      :

      6.5+20+16.5=43mm

  39. :

Following on from the above recommendation. I am struggling to get proper focus on my images. My scope is Celestron EdgeHD 8″ with 0.7x FR and i am using ZWO ASI1600MM-C with 8-Position FW (31mm astronomik filters). The backfocus i have achieve is 105mm (after the reducer) which i have done so by the following:

    Celestron EdgeHD T-adapter = 78.3mm
    ZWO FW = 20mm
    ZWO ASI1600 = 6.5mm

As you can see i am at 104.8mm which is +/-0.5mm recommended but i am told that i need to factor in the filter thickness too? thanks

    • Sean Wang

      :

It will be ok, the distance can not prefectly match unless you DIY a suitable adapter.

  40. :

I have a William Optics GT81 with a 0.8x reducer mounted on an Orion Sirius EQ-G. Which kit would be suitable to my setup?

    • Sam Wen

      :

you can pick up the 31 kit or 36 kit

  41. :

Can this camera be plugged to an USB Hub 2.0? Should I expect to see problems? Please note I just will use it for deep space astro-photography (No planetary)

    Thanks in advance,
    Diego

    • Sam Wen

      :

usually you can, just the cable cannot be too long
and you need to try another hub if this one won’t work

  42. :

    What time do you sale?
Is there a discount on the Christmas season a bit more?

    • Sam Wen

      :

there is discount on Christmas for other cameras but not this one

  43. :

Hello! I need for my telescop (Celestron Evo 9,25″ with wedge and Hyperstar) a good camera with filter-Wheel (for hyperstar). So i want to buy the 1600 mono/cool with the big Wheel. So my question: is the Wheel to big for my Diameter of the telescop (235mm Diameter) – big obstruction, or? (the Wheel willl be greater than the Edge of my teleskop!)

    • Sam Wen

      :

      yes, there is big obstruction
you’d better choose the color version

  44. :

Thanks for reply… why the color version? … would the small filter wheel small enough?

    • Sam Wen

      :

because the filter wheel is too big
